Water quality alarm system for Schiphol airport
Recently Observator instruments supplied a water quality alarm system for Schiphol airport through the water board ‘Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland’. In order to keep the runways and airplanes free from ice, the airport uses the biological decomposable Glycol. Disadvantage of this product is that it detracts oxygen when it get in contact with surface water. To monitor this process carefully and take action when required, three quality stations were installed comprising a YSI water quality probe and an OMC-045 GPRS logger. This lasts sends data to the Observator web-server, and each of the involved operators may consult the measurements whenever they want wherever they are.
